Welcome New Computer Science Students

Get Your CS Account

All new students starting a taught undergraduate or postgraduate course in Computer Science will require a Computer Science (CS) Account.

To get your CS Account, you must first be on the UCL network. This means using one of the following methods:

  1. ISD computers on campus
  2. Connect to Eduroam
  3. Desktop\@UCL Anywhere

Once you have connected to the UCL network, please visit the following page (disable any VPN's before accessing this site):

https://account.cs.ucl.ac.uk/

  1. Log in using your UCL credentials. Once you're in, you will be provided with your CS username. Make a note of this now. It will not be shown again.
  2. You will then be prompted to set a password. You are encouraged to include a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols, with a length of at least 14 characters.
  3. Once you have done this, your CS account will be ready to use after a few minutes.

  4. Note: Your UCL account and CS account are separate. UCL credentials will not grant access to CS systems (and vice-versa).

Labs

There are three CS labs located within the Malet Place Engineering Building (MPEB) and one at 169 Euston Road.

For further information on CS labs, please visit https://tsg.cs.ucl.ac.uk/labs-2/

Networks

Computer Science TSG manages networks (wired and Wi-Fi) across CS buildings, often alongside Eduroam.

Note: We do not manage Eduroam. For information on how to access Eduroam at UCL, visit https://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/services/get-connected/wi-fi/eduroam-wi-fi-ucl.

For further information on CS Wi-Fi, please visit the TSG Site.
